In Texas Hold'em Poker like in most poker games there are 52 cards involved. The special feature is that players have five cards dealt face up in the center of the table. They are called community cards, shared cards, window cards or the board cards. There is no dealer in casinos and poker rooms. When playing at home, dealer has to be one of the players and after each hand it has to be changed clockwise. The Dealer's button this way goes from one player to another also clockwise. It shows who the dealer is at the moment. The Dealer Button used to be called the Buck. This name is coming from the name of a hunting knife's haft made of antler - buck knife as well as from the impression "The buck stops here".

How To Play 5 Card Stud Poker
12 May 2008
Five Card Stud is similar to Five Card Draw, the difference being that you do not ever get a chance to replace cards in your hand and therefore do not get a chance to improve that hand. As in Seven Card Stud you get a hole card and 4 open cards for all to see. Most versions play the final card as a community card. Since there is no chance to improve your hand, the winning hands tend to be either pairs or high cards and it is hard to string people along to the final street. Some variations on Five Card Stud alleviate this by making the last card a pocket card allowing for some raises.

Starting hands in Omaha poker can be confusing for newer players. Omaha features 4 starting – or ‘hole’ cards, exactly 2 from your own hand and 3 from the board being used to assess the best hand at showdown.
Holding 4 hole cards means that there are many ways in which each player can connect with the flop. The best way to look at this is to imagine 6 combinations of Holdem hands for each player. This increased number of ways of hitting the flop in Omaha has a big effect on the strength of starting hands.

Online Poker Tips - The No Limit Hold'em Semi-Bluff
9 April 2008
While there is a place in poker for big bluffs when you hold no hand at all, most expert poker players make sure that their bluffing has a little insurance. The 'Semi-bluff' is a big bet with the worst hand - just like a pure bluff. However, when you semi-bluff you make sure you have 'outs', that is to say cards that can come to give you the best hand.
The most common hand used to semi-bluff in no limit Hold'em poker is a draw to a flush or s straight. The central idea is that your big bet with 4-flush cards will make your opponents fold a good proportion of the time. Those times that your bet is called then you have the possibility to make your flush on the turn and river.
