"Act" Definition
|
1. To make a play (bet, call, raise, or fold) at the required time.
For example: It is Ted's turn to act.
2. A false tell intended to lead an opponent to an inaccurate reading of one's hand; a purposeful behavior intended to convince an opponent that a player has revealed information about one's hand; a reverse tell.
For example: "A lot of the time novice players' attempts to act end up actually serving as a reliable tell. They consistently act like they have a weak hand when they have a strong one and act like they have a strong hand when they have a weak one. Acting is a difficult skill to perfect."
