"Action" Definition
|
1. A player's turn to act. The time at which a player may fold, check, call, bet, raise, announce the number of cards the player would like to draw, declare one's hand, or otherwise engage in game play.
For example: "Hey, pay attention, the action is on you."
2. A willingness to gamble. Betting, raising, and re-raising, especially in reference to heavy betting in an exciting or lively atmosphere. A game with a lot of action is a game in which a lot of money is changing hands. These are good games to seek, because the more money moves, the more opportunity you have to win money.
For example: "There was a lot of action on that last hand."
