"Burn" Definition
|
To discard the top card of the deck prior to dealing. Burning is done to prevent cheating by having the dealer intentionally flash the top card to a particular player and to prevent abuse when a dealer accidently flashes the top card. It also minimizes potential cheating by using marked cards.
